The final instalment of Saravanja’s Argentine sessions is out, marking the end of an era. Recorded in oneday in January 2018 and sounding like it came out in 1972 New York City, Buenos Aires Afternoon is anexercise in rock and roll intensity without a single electric guitar to be had. Daring, bold, fearless andunadorned... like a spring flower in an industrial field of abandoned loss and postmodern decay, strugglingtowards the light. This a high romance EP-length record that doesn’t pull any punches in all its glory, marked by the sound of a young street poet who was never made for his own times and knows it, a middlefinger raised in one hand, red rose in the other, and a smoky look in his fiery dark eyes that cannot tell alie. A tough but gentle voice so dry it feels like the reverberation of falling autumn leaves on a hot leatherjacket cooled by a secret sweet breeze made for those bent low and quiet enough to listen, gifted with an
echo you can’t hear but swear is there.
